For the 5th year running St.Patrick’s has been awarded a Discover Primary Science Award. Only a handful of schools in the country have 5 awards and we are delighted to be one of these schools.
The award is a reflection of all of the hard work that students and teachers do during the year. This year was action packed with science activities again.
The start of the year saw a visit from the Mr. Bug which caused no end of excitement. 4th classes had a chance to visit Coole Park and listen to the well known environmentalist Gordan D’Arcy.
We held our annual science week in November and all of the classes displayed their work afterwards.
We had a lot of extra science work as well :green schools, agri aware and greenwave to name a few.
Finally thanks to the great work of Ms. Lally’s and Ms.Byrne’s 3rd classes , and the 6th classes we had loads of experiments completed by the end of the year.

Our school hurling team took part in a primary school 9-a-side blitz in Belclare last Friday morning 30th April. We played very well and were unlucky to lose out on qualifying for the county final to a last minute goal from a very good Bawnmore team. Below are the results of our three games.
St Pats 4-10 Corrandrum NS 0-1
St Pats 4-05 Gardenfield NS 2-0
St Pats 1-03 Bawnmore NS 3-0
Well done to all the boys who participated and put in such a great effort both at training and on the day.
