W.O.W. / C.O.W. Days – Summer Term

Congratulations to the winning classes and well done to ALL who continue to support this project.
Four representatives from the school will travel to Athlone next week, 24th May 2012, to be presented with our Fifth Green Flag.

W.O.W. / C.O.W. Day 09.05.’12
As usual our W.O.W. / C.O.W. Day was very well supported. The weather was good which is always a bonus. This week THREE classes achieved a very high percentage with 95% of the boys in all three classes walking, cycling or car pooling. The three winning classes are
Ms. Conway’s second class,
Mr. Burke’s sixth class, and
Mr. Birmingham’s sixth class.
Well done to ALL who took part.

Science Award for St.Patrick’s
Congratulations to everybody involved in the Discover Primary Science Award of Science Excellence 2012. All of the hard work has paid off and well done especially to the boys in 6th , Mr. Crowe’s 4th class and Ms. Mannion’s 5th class. Our folder was well complimented and rated as extremely impressive. All that’s left to do now is wait for our plaque which is due to arrive any day.

Kensuke’s Kingdom
We were very lucky to have the artist Sarah Mc Gill visit our class on Friday.She helped us create an Installation for our school library based on the ‘’ One Book One Tuam’’ Novel -Kensuke’s Kingdom. We were divided into four groups. The first group helped paint the tree, the second group painted seashells using beetroot juice, the third group made bananas and coconuts out of clay while the fourth group built the fire and painted the base.We had great fun and we are delighted with the result! Come and have a look in the library!

We are restarting our Walk on Wednesday /Cycle or Car pool on Wednesday this week Wednesday 28th March 2012. We hope that as many people as possible will walk, cycle or car pool this week as the weather forecast is good.

W.O.W. / C.O.W. Days
After the winter break from our W.O.W. / C.O.W. Days we hope to restart them on Wednesday 28th March 2012. We have had our Golden boots resprayed so they are looking good.Thanks to Margaret. We hope the weather will be kind to us. Keep looking at our website to find out the winning class each week. The laces are made with Fairtrade certified cotton.
